Last week I had the opportunity to take part in a webinar on digital mail and Systemware’s Digital Mail Gateway, our new solution that transforms customer communications and delivers them to digital mail providers.
Statements, bills, invoices, policy information, rewards program updates, declarations pages, proxy statements and annual reports are just some of the communications that can be effectively delivered digitally at a much lower cost than paper.
Information is fed into the Digital Mail Gateway in its existing form. There it’s segmented and packaged for delivery to the digital mail providers. It’s one solution, one point of integration, delivered to all the different channels.
Systemware has a legacy of making sense of vast amounts of output. So while this delivery channel may be new, this is work we’ve been doing for customers for some 30 years.
For the webinar, I was joined by John Payne, the chief executive of Zumbox, and by Matt Swain, associate director at the market research firm InfoTrends. I hope you’ll take some time to review the webinar. Here’s just a sampling of what you’ll hear:
From Zumbox’s John Payne:
“Everyone’s comfortable having their music online. Everyone’s comfortable having their photos online. Increasingly people are comfortable having their books online. And what’s now happened is that the acceptance of all of that and the idea of all this media in the cloud has brought consumers to a place where they are very accepting, in fact expect, to have their mail online.”
“For a long time people mistakenly thought this is a problem that could be solved by email. Well, email is an open system of unknown senders and unknown recipients that’s just not secure, and is not private, and then also happens to be the source of much of the malware that’s available in the Internet. On the contrary, our system, which is highly secure and uses digital certificates to identify mailers and has a private environment with verified users, is a secure way to accomplish what everyone’s been trying to accomplish for 15 years.”
“One of the things that we discover is that if you give consumers control over their documents they will behave differently. … You’ll see rates of paperless adoption that just skyrocket above what you’ve ordinarily been able to achieve.”
From Matt Swain at InfoTrends:
“In a social world today, in an Internet-connected world today, we’re very much focused on immediacy. We expect to receive information immediately, and we expect access to that information immediately … .”
“When we asked our consumers in our survey whether or not they would use a digital mailbox service, … what we found was that 74 percent of consumers under the age of 35 were willing to use or ready to use a digital mailbox service.”
“… What we’re looking at is a new type of service, a new type of electronic delivery channel that could be the answer and provide the superior user experience consumers have been asking for years.”
Why Systemware? We have three decades of experience in capturing and transforming statements and other customer communications as well as the ability to scale to meet consumer needs. And we are a single point of integration enabling organizations to utilize this new channel of digital delivery of customer communications.
We hope you’ll take the time to view the webinar and learn more about the Digital Mail Gateway.
