Systemware Receives HIMSS Medical Banking Project Gold Seal Certification

ADDISON, TX - March 1, 2010 -- Systemware, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise content management software, announces today that it is the first company to achieve the Gold Seal of HIMSS Medical Banking Project. This Gold Seal certification recognizes excellence in meeting the highest standards of data privacy and security compliance mandated under banking and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.

As the number of financial institutions and banks handling claim remittances and payments has grown exponentially, it has become of critical importance for these companies to ensure that their business practices as well as the business practices of their vendor partners meet the highest standards for privacy and security as well as clearly adhere to all regulatory mandates protecting sensitive personal information.

Based on this need, Medical Banking Project has created a self-assessment program by convening an Accreditation Review Council (ARC). Over a period of 15 months, the Council assessed relevant banking and healthcare regulations, privacy and security frameworks (such as CoBiT, NIST, ISO), as well as the current landscape of accreditation programs. The Council evaluated a wide range of issues before building a common set of medical banking standards. The ongoing efforts of ARC will assure that the Gold Certification program will continue to address any new risks and regulations.
